Allison Penner-Hurst is a health and wellness professional with nearly two decades of experience in massage therapy, doula, and Chinese medicine. She graduated as a Nationally Certified Massage Therapist from Sister Rosalind School of Professional Massage in 1999, and immediately started her first clinic, Divine Touch Massage Center, in Eagan MN. Over the next decade she developed Divine Touch into a successful practice, eventually employing a full time staff of 8 therapists.
In addition to her entrepreneurship over the years, Allison has engaged in a lifelong pursuit of comprehensive education in integrative medicine, receiving training in multiple holistic disciplines including acupuncture and doula. She has been an instructor for the Minnesota School of Business, teaching massage therapy, muscular therapy, physiology, ethics, and anatomy, she currently sits on the East Regional Advisory Board for the medical department of the National American University, and she is the President and CEO of the Center for Integrative Massage (CIM).
A pioneer in the profession, Allison was one of the first 100 practitioners in the United States to earn Board Certification from the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB), the most elevated credential in the field. Specializing in cervical and thoracic spine for pain management, she has developed a proprietary technique called Kinetic Flexion™ that has revolutionized her practice. Kinetic Flexion™ is being successfully implemented by therapists in her clinic, and a certification course is being developed as continuing education for practitioners.
Allison is obviously gifted at multi-tasking, in fact she relishes these multifaceted outlets as opportunities to combine her expertise in multiple modalities with her entrepreneurial spirit. Intensely focused on promoting natural health and wellness in all its forms, Allison has been and will continue to be a tireless champion of integrative medicine, delivering the highest possible level of service to both her clients and her students.
